Approximately 120 participants trained in interoception and 120 matched controls complete double-blind, repeated heart-rate change and inspiratory resistance discrimination tasks over 6 months, measuring accuracy and confidence calibration of subjective judgments; also include a hidden external target task to distinguish interoception from alleged extrasensory perception. Use pre-registered held-out data to compare prediction performance of subjective reports, instrumental signals, and combined models. Even if subjective reports add information, this only supports complementary value, not abandoning instruments.
