Research Program / Claims / personality-1

Personality has no limits other than those it accepts; there is no limit to development or growth, and no boundary set by the self.

人格没有限制,除了它自己接受的限制之外,没有发展或成长的极限,也没有自我设定的边界。

This program treats the Seth Material as a source of hypotheses, not as doctrine to be validated. Lead dossiers are AI-compiled from the corpus with a book-and-session citation after every statement; literature reviews are AI web-search summaries whose references were all DOI-verified against Crossref; the agenda draft is an AI synthesis. None of it is Seth's original text, and none of it represents scientific consensus. English fields are machine-translated; the Chinese text is authoritative.

Adjudicating experiment
Conduct a pre-registered randomized trial with about 900 people in three groups: personality-plasticity belief intervention, time-matched behavioral training, and active control; intervention for 12 weeks, follow-up for 24 months. Measure the Big Five personality factors, self-efficacy, informant ratings, and objective behavior, comparing whether changing beliefs alone is sufficient to produce lasting, cross-context changes, and test moderating effects of health and environmental constraints. Limited studies can test specific constraints but cannot prove unlimited growth.

What it would overturn
If confirmed literally, it would overturn the assumption that personality development is constrained by neurobiological conditions and environmental resources, not only by self-beliefs.

Specificity of Seth's formulation
'Unlimited' and 'limits only by self-accepted constraints' are stronger than personality-plasticity hypotheses, but no ability metrics, time scales, or exclusion conditions are specified; if all failures are reinterpreted as potential self-limitations, it becomes unfalsifiable.
Note
The rating follows the strength of the original claim; support for related weaker propositions does not automatically upgrade the original claim. DOI confirmed via journal page or PubMed record; not claimed to have completed item-by-item Crossref API verification. Sample sizes are planning magnitudes; power calculations must account for minimal meaningful effect, clustering, and attrition.
