Adjudicating experiment
Approximately 600 participants, in tasks varying in professional familiarity and cue validity, are randomly assigned to immediate intuitive response, sustained analysis, or intuition followed by review; training for 2 weeks, testing for 2 weeks, with a transfer test at 1 month. Primary endpoints are accuracy and time cost; also measure metacognitive calibration, the proportion of first correct answers changed to wrong, and the proportion of incorrect answers corrected; pre-register the interaction between strategy and task learnability to test under which conditions the combined strategy yields net benefits.

It would not overturn mainstream cognitive science; if a stable interaction effect is found, it would only revise boundary conditions in specific models regarding "when review is beneficial."
