This program treats the Seth Material as a source of hypotheses, not as doctrine to be validated. Adjudicating experiment
Recruit 100 participants to complete four sessions each of ordinary writing, free writing, and automatic writing over four weeks, matched for topic and length. Analyze language-appropriate LIWC emotion-word proportions, function words, lexical diversity, and readability measures using repeated-measures mixed models, and test author identification across states. To measure “distortion,” also include message-retelling conditions with known source texts and quantify omissions, additions, and emotional shifts. Material of unknown origin has no ground truth against which distortion can be calculated.

What it would overturn
Retention of individual linguistic characteristics would not overturn mainstream models. Only independently verified information that could not have been acquired through known sensory or memory channels would challenge the assumption that information in writing is constrained by prior informational input.

Specificity of Seth's formulation
“Passing through its layers” specifies neither the number of layers, the transmission mechanism, nor the direction of distortion. It cannot currently be distinguished from ordinary memory reconstruction, linguistic habits, and expectancy effects.
Note
This search found no study directly testing this transmission claim using LIWC. Differences in emotion-word frequency or readability can demonstrate only changes in textual characteristics; they cannot independently establish an external source or a layered structure of the subconscious.
