The original proposition involves experiences after irreversible death, for which there is currently no recognized direct measurement method; an approximate test is a multicenter prospective cohort: pre-recruit approximately 10,000–30,000 high-risk patients, record beliefs and cultural background, follow for 3–5 years, aiming to obtain thousands of natural resuscitation events and hundreds of interviewable cases. During events, synchronously record EEG, cerebral oxygenation, and time-stamped random hidden targets; after recovery, interviewers blinded to prior beliefs score according to pre-registered coding, with follow-up at 1, 3, and 12 months. Specificity of Seth's formulation
'Choice according to beliefs' provides a directional link between experiential content and prior beliefs, but it does not specify which beliefs correspond to which experiences, nor does it distinguish post-death occurrence, occurrence during resuscitation, or post-hoc memory reconstruction.
