For supplementary question 2: approximately 180 novices are randomly assigned to a standardized 'inner vibratory touch' training group, a general body-scan group, and a breathing-relaxation group, for 8 weeks, 20 minutes daily; about 120 complete pre- and post-fMRI, and all complete EEG and behavioral measures. Pre-registered outcomes include default-mode network connectivity, somatosensory cortex and insula perceptual task responses, respiration, heart rate, subtle muscle movements, expectations, and objective vibration discrimination thresholds; the project lasts 12–18 months. Comparing whether adding experiential reports improves prediction accuracy on an independent test set; brain-region changes only verify training effects, and the acquisition of additional information via inner senses requires an independent blinded target task.

Specificity of Seth's formulation
'Must use inner senses' is much stronger than methodological complementarity, but no failure criteria are defined; vibratory touch training cannot yet be clearly distinguished from interoception, body-image, and attention training.
Note
The default-mode network is a distributed network; EEG cannot be directly equated with its activation. Participant training groups cannot be fully blinded; expectations must be measured and analysts blinded.
