Research Program / Claims / unconscious-5

The outer self (external consciousness) is not aware of the inner self, because the outer self is focused on daily matters of physical reality; the unconscious may block past-life memories to maintain survival through a series of self-induced hypnotic blind spots.

外我(外在意识)并不察觉内我,因为外我专注于物理现实的日常事务,而无意识通过一系列自我诱导的催眠盲点,可能封锁前世记忆以维持生存。

This program treats the Seth Material as a source of hypotheses, not as doctrine to be validated. Lead dossiers are AI-compiled from the corpus with a book-and-session citation after every statement; literature reviews are AI web-search summaries whose references were all DOI-verified against Crossref; the agenda draft is an AI synthesis. None of it is Seth's original text, and none of it represents scientific consensus. English fields are machine-translated; the Chinese text is authoritative.

Adjudicating experiment
Approximately 240 adults are randomly assigned to self-hypnotic amnesia suggestion, Think/No-Think suppression training, or a matched relaxation group; they first learn verifiable experimental events, then free recall, recognition, source memory, and implicit priming are measured immediately, after one week, and after one month, with EEG recording. Automated instructions and blinded scoring are used; the project lasts 9–12 months. It can test selective access of encoded memories, but cannot validate past-life memories by generating past-life narratives under hypnosis. The full claim also requires independent factual verification from unconscious-4 and separately defined survival-adaptive indicators.
Suggested paper title
Self-Hypnotic Suggestion and Retrieval Suppression: Effects on Explicit Recall, Implicit Memory, and Source Accuracy
What it would overturn
If it is proven that real memories not encoded in the individual's lifetime are reversibly suppressed, the assumption that 'memory suppression acts on the individual's already acquired memory representations' would be revised.

Specificity of Seth's formulation
It adds self-hypnosis and survival functions, but does not specify trigger conditions or reversible rules; ordinary forgetting, active suppression, and hypnotic amnesia themselves do not have Seth specificity.
Note
Memory accuracy and subjective confidence must be measured separately; [Michael C. Anderson's research](https://www.mrc-cbu.cam.ac.uk/people/michael.anderson/) provides a verifiable memory-control paradigm.
