What it would overturn

Specificity of Seth's formulation
The original item's departure and return lack objective criteria; the supplementary 'only patterns before and after, no signature during' is more specific, but one must first define the features and time windows to pre-register.
Note
The absence of distinguishable scalp EEG features does not equal the absence of brain activity; the similarity between out-of-body sensations and near-death experiences does not prove they share identical mechanisms, nor can it be directly extrapolated to irreversible death.
