Approximately 60 deep-trance practitioners and 60 matched controls, lasting 12–18 months, each complete 3 tasks of deep trance, ordinary speech, and role-playing. EEG and speech performance are recorded, with random addition of semantic priming and gentle dual-task load, followed by implicit learning and delayed memory tests; whether output continues to be influenced by the individual's own language habits, priming stimuli, and cognitive resource limits is examined, with trance depth as a pre-registered continuous variable.
