Approximately 240 participants complete hierarchical figures, relational analogies, and causal system reasoning, with crossed manipulations of whole-relationship visibility and local-information completeness; combine eye tracking, reaction times, and computational model comparisons of holistic vs. piecemeal strategies. Each participant has two sessions one week apart, over approximately 6 months; the main test is whether holistic relationships can support correct inferences when local identification is insufficient, not merely using visual perception as a substitute for intellectual reasoning.

What it would overturn
If it is strictly proven that intellect can only process in a piecemeal manner, this would overturn the mechanistic hypothesis that holistic relational representations can directly support cognitive judgments.

Specificity of Seth's formulation
'Only' is a clear limitation that can be overturned by counterexamples; but if all holistic processing is excluded from intellect, the proposition degenerates into an untestable definition.
