Pre-register approximately 180 participants, with two experimental sessions separated by 2 weeks; conduct current body judgments, current trait judgments, past self-recall, and future self-simulation, while acquiring task fMRI. Cross-validate comparisons of a single self-factor, a multidimensional self-model, and a pre-formalized 'now-tool' model; control for scenario construction, memory difficulty, and language processing. Only by pre-specifying the measurement method and specific predictions for the ego can models be compared.

Specificity of Seth's formulation
