Adjudicating experiment
Two-stage pre-registered study: first, 60 self-reported channelers and 60 matched controls complete sparse-sampling fMRI, cross-over comparing states, narrative themes, and output modalities; use materials with objective answers to calculate omissions, additions, and semantic errors, predefine ROIs in default mode network and temporoparietal junction, controlling for head motion, speech rate, emotion, and absorption tendency. Then 120 practitioners are randomly assigned to communication and emotional regulation training or expectation-matched control, training for 8 weeks with 4-week follow-up, project duration 18-24 months; independently set a double-blind randomized hidden-target task to test 'extra data,' which cannot be replaced by brain-activity differences.
