Research Program / Claims / blocking-6

Suppressed thoughts, after long-term neglect and denial, accumulate into observable explosive energy; suppression merely collects energy and cannot eliminate it.

被压抑的念头长期忽略与否认后会累积为可观察的爆发性能量;压制只是收集能量,不能消除。

This program treats the Seth Material as a source of hypotheses, not as doctrine to be validated. Lead dossiers are AI-compiled from the corpus with a book-and-session citation after every statement; literature reviews are AI web-search summaries whose references were all DOI-verified against Crossref; the agenda draft is an AI synthesis. None of it is Seth's original text, and none of it represents scientific consensus. English fields are machine-translated; the Chinese text is authoritative.

Adjudicating experiment
Approximately 600 people are randomly assigned to white-bear-style thought exclusion, cue-triggered memory retrieval suppression, acceptance, or active control training, for two weeks; daily sampling of intrusive thoughts, distress, and impulsive behavior, with six-month follow-up. Pre-register cumulative exposure, rebound time window, and clinically significant deterioration threshold, test dose-response between number of attempts and subsequent rebound, and compare with memory accessibility decline models. Cannot post-hoc label "thinking it more times" as explosive energy.
Suggested paper title
Rebound and Persistence After Thought Suppression: A Preregistered Comparison of Suppression Paradigms
What it would overturn
If inevitable and cumulative rebound occurs across paradigms, this would challenge the inhibitory control hypothesis that "retrieval suppression can persistently reduce target memory accessibility without subsequent rebound."

Specificity of Seth's formulation
"Only collects, cannot eliminate" is stronger than the conditional thought rebound hypothesis; existing non-rebound findings challenge it, but energy and long-term time limits are undefined, so the literal energy mechanism remains untested.
Note
contested describes an operationalizable rebound mechanism; the absolute version lacks evidentiary support, and expressive suppression, thought exclusion, retrieval suppression, and unconscious repression are not the same experimental manipulation.
