Lesson 1

Who Seth Is, and Where This Material Comes From

How a personality "without a body" can write a book through Jane; the words entity, inner self and Seth Two locate him.

This path is arranged by hand, not recommended by an algorithm. Concept entries are AI syntheses, the commentary is Mike's own teaching, original text appears only as excerpts, and the notes under "Think it over" are the editor's.

Read first

  • entity存有

The entity is a multidimensional consciousness gestalt that transcends time and space, eternally evolving, and serves as the source of individual personalities and the wholeness of the soul.AI entry (cross-book synthesis)

  • inner self内我

The inner self is the indestructible, highly creative core of an individual's multidimensional personality, serving as the true creator and sustainer of the physical body and reality, as well as the director of inner reality.AI entry (cross-book synthesis)

  • seth two赛斯第二

Seth Two is a multidimensional gestalt of consciousness and source existing in a higher, more evolved dimension than the Seth who is usually channeled.AI entry (cross-book synthesis)

Then read

  • Chapter 1I Do Not Have a Physical Body, Yet I Am Writing a BookMike's commentary

This chapter consists of three sessions. Seth first introduces himself: he has no physical body, is an energy form, speaks through Jane Roberts while Rob records; he states that he only describes the reality he knows, not the final truth, and explains that his purpose in coming is to convey the ability and responsibility of "man creating the world he knows and projecting thought into matter." He then explains the composition of the human being: the outer self, the inner self, the subconscious, fragment personalities and the entity, as well as the conscious mind spanning consciousness and the unconscious. Finally, he explains that Seth establishes communication with Jane and the readers through the psychological revolving plane.

  • Chapter 2My Present Environment, Work, and ActivitiesMike's commentary

In this chapter, Seth explains that the environment he inhabits is fundamentally different from the physical world: there are no permanent structures, no limitations of time and space, reality is created by consciousness, and images change with thought. He talks about how birth is more startling than death, and that death is not frightening; there is no objective reality, only forms created by consciousness. Seth's work is that of a teacher, communicating through telepathy and images, with emotional patterns different from those of humans. He also points out that the human inner senses can perceive a more genuine reality, and that changes in dreams will, under certain conditions, manifest in the physical world.

Think it over

Decide for yourself whether each statement is right, then open the note.

  • Seth says he is a part of Jane's subconscious.

    False

Seth explicitly says he is not a secondary personality or Jane's subconscious; he is an independent personality that no longer needs a body, to whom Jane yields focus in trance.Editor

  • The entity is larger than any single incarnated personality; one entity can have several personalities alive in different eras at once.

    True

The most important sentence of the lesson: the "I" you are now is one aspect of the entity, not the whole of it.Editor

Take it to Seth

“Seth, you say you are a personality that no longer needs a body. Where are you "now"?”
