The Influence of a Television Program

This is Session 905, which began on Monday, March 3, 1980, at 9:27 p.m. This session is very short, and almost all of it relates to this book. It shows how one event in a day of their lives -- for example, a television program they watched -- influenced Jane's transmission of a Seth session. Naturally, other factors were also involved, and I will mention one of them at the end of this session.

Jane was very relaxed after dinner. When I walked into the living room to wait for the session, I found her watching a fascinating science program on the educational television channel that covered several topics. Seth said he transmitted this material to her on other levels, but he would give her the necessary information so that Jane could ultimately speak this material aloud. This material was not merely transmitted to her through language, or through the previous method of consciousness transmission; he wanted to transmit it directly to Jane through the truly underlying, inner reincarnational material, through some genetic means of reincarnation. That is why Jane said at the beginning, "I seemed to enter a trance state, but it was not aimed at Seth's usual state." What she was aimed at was her true inner world, the inner reincarnational material, and some other basic informational material from the human stockpile concerning human development.

All of this is also intimately connected with those areas.

I have come through now only to give you this explanation. Ruburt, on his own level, is also going through a rather accelerated healing process.

Seth said Rob's entire body is being healed, restored, renewed, and becoming younger. Within it, certain understandings within yourself are being communicated to the various organs of your body, so your sleeping expression changes, to the point that your body has entered a far better overall relationship. When your body enters a good overall relationship, your sleeping expression is that peaceful, blissful look of a little baby, sleeping with contentment.

Such a bodily relationship is also one of the main reasons for the improvement in your eyes.

And Ruburt, before you were even aware of this, could already sense that your inner self was different, that you had changed, that you were no longer the same person you used to be. Jane's psychic sensitivity and inspiration are still very strong.

Part of Ruburt's bewilderment is the result of the healing process within his own body.

Ruburt has been feeling strange about these things lately because the healing within his own body is also beginning, also accelerating. And once again, at that intimate microscopic level, relationships are changing. Ruburt's healing begins with changes in the internal microscopic relationships, so on the macroscopic level of consciousness it cannot yet be seen for a while, but the inner change has already occurred.

And this microscopic change sends upward, gradually toward the macroscopic formations of matter of all kinds, its new healing vibrations.

Rob's Response

When Jane said that Rob's sleeping expression was just like a little baby's, only the adult version of a baby, Rob said, "All I can answer tonight is that I am glad he saw it, just as I was at the time, but I was not consciously aware of any physical change." Each human chromosome has about one hundred thousand genes, and genes provide the blueprint for the synthesis of fifty thousand different kinds of proteins.

We have value fulfillment and life blueprints -- so do we follow these nonphysical, spiritual, or psychic things, or do we follow our genes? Which of the two has the final say? Which one plays the decisive role, or plays the larger role? Do the two operate together, function at the same time? How immutable are those two kinds of endowments -- the intangible endowments and the physical, biological ones of genes? And if we choose, which parts of either one can we turn off? If we have the choice, can we decide to change our genes? Or can we change our lives through our beliefs? If we dissect a gene, even down to the smallest part of the atom, can we ultimately obtain clues about reincarnation, can it bring us reincarnational information?

In The Individual and the Nature of Mass Events, Seth tells us that our consciousness forms our genes, not that genes form our consciousness. And the baby about to be born adds new material through the structure of the chromosomes. What does that mean? When a baby is about to be born through reincarnation, after its soul comes in, how is the content it needs to add brought in? Seth tells you it is added through changes in the structure of the chromosomes. What is ultimately reflected in our bodies must be the chromosomes at work, but what influences the chromosomes is the nonphysical things behind them.
